Earthenware with semi matt glaze
Following a career in television production, Lucy began making pots in 1992.
After graduating she set up in a shared studio in Battersea and began to make and sell work at open studios and craft fairs. She is a member of London Potters. In 2000 she moved to Farnham, and for two years had a studio at Farnham Pottery. Lucy now works from her studio in Kingsley, Hampshire.
Lucy’s work is thrown on the wheel using white earthenware clay (and sometimes stoneware, with crystalline glazes). She makes functional and decorative vessels: vases, bowls and jugs.
She is constantly aiming for harmony of form and colour and enjoys experimenting with a base glaze of her own formulation to make a wide spectrum of colours both vivid and subtle.
